Key Steps
1. Activating an Alert 0:31
- Select a student from your dashboard list (e.g., Jacob Evans).
- Navigate to the Notes tab.
- Enter your note (e.g., "The student is not responding to several emails.").
- Check the box labeled Activate Alert before saving the note.
2. Understanding Alert Activation 0:54
- After saving, the following occurs:
- The note is documented in the notes log with an alert-activated status in red.
- A banner appears on the student's profile indicating that an alert is activated.
- An alert icon appears next to the student's name in the dashboard.
- Allies set up for the student to receive email notifications about the alert.
3. Acknowledging an Alert 2:11
- To acknowledge an alert, enter a note in the notes field (e.g., "I made a phone call to the student, but they didn't answer, so I left a voicemail.").
- On the left side, view the list of alerts you can acknowledge.
- Check the box for the alert(s) you wish to acknowledge and add your note.
4. Effects of Acknowledging an Alert 2:40
- The original alert activation status changes from red to gray, indicating it has been acknowledged.
- The new note is marked as an acknowledgment and appears in green.
- The student's banner and alert icon will no longer be visible.
- Allies and the faculty member who placed the alert will receive a follow-up email notification.
Cautionary Notes
- Please make sure that you check the Activate Alert box before saving your note to properly flag the student.
- Remember to enter a clear and concise note when acknowledging an alert to maintain accurate records.
Tips for Efficiency
- Regularly check the dashboard for any alerts that may need acknowledgment to keep communication timely.
- Use specific language in your notes to ensure clarity for anyone reviewing the alerts later.
